122° West is a women-run visual studio based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded by photographer Erin Scott and stylist Lillian Kang, 122° West creates stunning photography for food, beverage, and wellness brands. 122° West specializes in an editorial, natural look honed by two decades of combined experience in the magazine, cookbook, and lifestyle industries. Lillian and Erin bring skilled eyes and a collaborative spirit to every project.

We partner with clients who share our ethos—a deep commitment to quality, beauty, and taste. We are inspired by the frontier freedom of doing creative work at the western edge of California—longitude 122° West.

WHAT WE DO

First and foremost, we create gorgeous images to help clients grow their businesses.
 

·      WE COLLABORATE closely with our clients' in-house marketing and design teams to create engaging visual content for all platforms.

·      WE WORK with marketing, design, PR, and advertising agencies.

·      WE DEVELOP, write and test custom recipes for our clients.

·      WE PARTNER with our clients to tailor the scope of every project. Photography is our core service, but we also have a roster of talented collaborators who can bring additional expertise in creative direction, art direction, logo, web and packaging design, marketing and branding.

We see photography as the most powerful tool for creating and fostering a brand’s identity. Every company needs a lush library of visual content. For clients small and large, we are hands-on and passionate about creating images to help grow and expand reach and sales. Visual storytelling is our passion.

THE TEAM

Lillian Kang, stylist: Lillian has worked on a range of projects for magazines, cookbooks, TV, web and print advertising. She is currently based in Berkeley, California, though she began her culinary career in New York, where she worked for Martha Stewart Living. In addition to creating visually-rich food, she thrives at recipe testing and developing for her clients.

Erin Scott, photographer: Erin is a food and lifestyle photographer, and cookbook author. She’s inspired by honest food, real people, and the magic of natural light. Erin lives in Berkeley with her husband and two kids. When she’s not working in the studio, she’s busy cooking and eating anything sprouting in her backyard veggie patch.
